Taker Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Tikketi Technology Services ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Taker application and website at jointaker.com ("Taker").

Taker is available to users in multiple countries. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA) and the NDPC's General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025, which apply to the personal data of individuals in Nigeria and Nigerian citizens and residents wherever they are. If you use Taker from another country, your local data protection laws may also give you rights, contact us and we will do our best to honour them.

By using Taker, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Taker.


1. Who is responsible for your data

Tikketi Technology Services is the data controller for personal data processed through Taker. You can reach us at takersupport@gmail.com for any privacy matter.

2. What data we collect

a. Account and profile data, such as your email address, username, profile details, gender (used to tailor character interactions), and any avatar or profile information you provide.

b. Content you create, posts, carousels, Trials, Stories, comments, reactions, messages, and other content you share.

c. Voice recordings, when you speak in a Lives voice room, your audio is recorded and stored so it can be played to others in the room as part of the feature.

d. AI interactions, the messages you send to AI characters (including The Goat) so they can respond, and, where relevant, search queries used to look up information.

e. Payment information, when you add Taker Credits, payment is handled by Paystack. We receive confirmation of your transaction but we do not collect or store your full card details.

f. Usage and device data, such as activity within the app (for example, streaks, Taker Score, features used), approximate location/city if you provide it, device and browser information, and technical logs needed to run and secure the service.

g. Notifications, if you enable them, we process the information needed to send you push notifications and emails.

We share data with trusted service providers who help us run Taker, only as needed and under appropriate safeguards:

We may also share data: with other users, where you choose to share content publicly or in a room; to comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests; and to protect the rights, safety, and security of Taker, our users, and the public.

6. Voice recordings in Lives

When you join or speak in a Lives room, your voice is recorded and shared with others in that room to deliver the feature, and stored on our infrastructure. We delete voice recordings on an automated schedule once they are no longer needed for the live session. Do not share sensitive personal information by voice in a Lives room.

7. AI interactions

Messages you send to AI characters are processed to generate replies and may be sent to our AI and infrastructure providers for that purpose. The Goat may use web search to answer questions. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in AI chats.

8. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy or as required by law. Some data is deleted automatically, for example, Stories expire and are removed after a set period, and voice recordings and related temporary files are cleared on a regular automated schedule. When you delete content or close your account, we delete or anonymise associated data, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or backup reasons.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and security rules on our database and storage. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Taker is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it.

12. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (such as Supabase, Netlify, Paystack, and Resend) may store or process data on servers outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure your data is protected to a standard consistent with the NDPA's requirements for cross-border transfers.

13. Cookies and local storage

Taker uses local storage and similar technologies on your device to keep you signed in and to make the app work. These are necessary for the service to function.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
